Choose camera, image, or text
Allow camera access on a supported browser, choose Upload image for a screenshot or photo, or paste the code into Decoded value. Camera scanning requires HTTPS and browser permission.
Get a clear read
Keep the entire code and its blank margins visible. For a photo, avoid glare and blur. If scanning fails, try a sharper image or enter the printed number manually.
Inspect the result
Review the decoded value and recognized fields. For GS1 data, check product, lot, serial, and date information when present. Any recall or product-passport lookup is supplemental, not a guarantee of safety or authenticity.
Camera troubleshooting
If access is denied, review the site’s camera permission in your browser settings. Close other apps using the camera. Image upload and pasted input remain available when your device or browser cannot provide a camera stream.
Know what a scan can tell you
A scan decodes a symbol. It does not prove that a product is genuine or safe. Review the destination domain before following a QR link, and compare any recall match against the official notice, product description, and lot information. Online lookups send relevant identifiers or links to the lookup service.

Can I scan an image without camera access?
Yes. Use Upload image for a barcode or QR image already saved on your device. You can also paste the printed value and select Analyze.
Why will my camera not scan?
Permission, another app using the camera, blur, glare, an unsupported format, or a damaged symbol can prevent a read. Try a clear image upload or enter the visible number manually.
Does no recall match mean the product is safe?
No. Sources may omit a barcode or lot, and the web quick check has limited coverage. Always use the official notice and the relevant authority’s instructions to verify a concern.
