How to use it
Use Code 128 for mixed letters and numbers in internal IDs. Choose EAN or UPC when your product already has the appropriate retail identifier. Match your existing scanner and stock system.
Paste the SKU or product number without changing leading zeros. Follow the validation message if a format requires a particular length, character set, or check digit.
Adjust the barcode width and height for the label. Export PNG or copy SVG, preserve the blank margins, and scan a printed sample with the equipment that will actually read it.
Code 128 is useful for internal stock, shelves, and assets because it can encode letters and digits. EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, and UPC-E are retail formats with specific numeric rules. Rendering bars does not allocate a retail product number or register it with GS1.
The studio also supports Code 39, Code 93, Interleaved 2 of 5, Codabar, PDF417, Data Matrix, and Aztec. All single-code formats are free in the web studio. Check the receiver’s requirements before choosing a format simply because it fits into less space.
Avoid stretching an exported barcode in only one direction. Use dark bars on a light background and keep text or borders out of the clear margins. For many labels, use the bulk generator to keep dimensions consistent across the run.
Before you export
Yes. An internal SKU such as STOCK-001 can be encoded in Code 128. Make sure your inventory system uses the same identifier and that each item or location has the intended unique value.
No. The generator renders the identifier you supply; it does not allocate, license, or register GTINs. Check your retailer’s requirements and GS1 guidance for commercial product identifiers.
Yes. Pro and Business include batch creation from CSV rows or numbered ranges, with PDF, CSV manifest, and PNG ZIP exports. A single code is free.
