How to use it

Contact QR generator: a practical guide.

  1. Add the details you want to share

Enter a full name, then add company, role, phone, email, website, or address as needed. Include a country code in international phone numbers. Only include information intended for the public.

  2. Keep it compact

Long contact details make a denser QR pattern. Start with the fields someone actually needs to reach you, and keep a clear margin and strong contrast around the finished symbol.

  3. Test the saved contact

Scan with another phone, preview the contact card, and check how the name and phone number import. Test the final printed business-card size, not just a large on-screen preview.

A vCard, not a hosted profile

A contact QR stores the details directly in the code. It does not create a public ScanAtlas profile page, track who saved the contact, or keep an address book synchronized. The scanning device decides how to preview and save the vCard.

Choose static details or a website link

Use a vCard QR when you want contact details available from the symbol itself. If your role or details change frequently, a website QR pointing to a profile page you control may be more practical: the page can change without reprinting the URL.

Make the printed card useful without scanning

Print your name and a preferred contact method beside the QR. A recipient should still be able to identify you if their camera is unavailable. For a team batch, keep a consistent template and verify each person’s encoded details.

Before you export

Questions about contact qr generator.

Do recipients need the ScanAtlas app?

No. A compatible QR reader or phone camera can decode the vCard. The phone determines whether and how to offer saving it as a contact.

Can I update an already printed contact QR?

Not its embedded vCard data. Generate a new QR when those details change, or use a QR linking to an editable website profile instead.

Are contact QR codes private?

Anyone who can scan or decode the image can read the contact fields. Only include details you intend to share.
